Emilia Clarke & Chiwetel Ejiofor play a married couple in a future world, where they can share their pregnancy via a detachable artificial womb. Thus begins their drama to adapt to this new approach. The sci-fi concept is interesting and there are some cool futuristic concepts and production design elements. The duo does well with their varied emotions, but their journey is only fraught with minor inconveniences, never giving them much opportunity for real drama. While the performances keep it interesting, there are no surprises or conflicts that drive it in a compelling direction. Their debate between natural biological functions vs. machine creations lacks the emotional potential that lurked in the premise. NOTE: Sit thru early credits for one final statement.
