Adam Driver stars as the determined staffer for Senator Diane Feinstein (Annette Bening) who spent 6 years researching and writing the investigation into the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program (known most notoriously for the waterboarding scandal). Actually, the title starts as “The Torture Report,” then the word “torture” is redacted. It’s a fascinating narrative, one that spends much time detailing all of the outrage and cover-ups behind the politics and denials. While there’s not much tension or drama, the movie methodically explains the details without being too dry. Driver underplays his performance, but is always compelling. This is primarily for people who enjoy being outraged at political scandals. (Just left town last nite, but should be on Amazon Prime Video on 11/29).
