Chris Hemsworth returns in the title role, even more jacked that before. His journey takes him thru several kingdoms in the effort to stave off a new villain (a not-especially-creepy Christian Bale). Meanwhile, Thor’s quest for love is complicated with the reappearance of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). Director and co-writer Taika Waititi (also plays Korg) tested the superhero comedy waters with Ragnarok and went all-out this time. There’s actually more humor than action. Sure, the fights are there, but their superhuman conflicts are noisy with lots of throwing each other around….ultimately dull. To add some fun, the cast is crammed with cameos and those screaming goats! Overall, this is the less action-oriented of all the Marvel films, but still entertaining. (Of course, stay thru the credits to see both bonus clips, including a quick peek at an upcoming hero…hint, a Ted Lasso star.)
