These series are very different in many ways, but I couldn’t make it far on either one. Queen is a Polish drama about a drag dad, while Maggie takes a physic angle on the typical romcom.

Queen Andrzej Seweryn plays a renowned Parisian tailor, who also enjoys performing as a drag queen. When there’s an issue with his long-estranged daughter, he returns to his hometown in Poland and must deal with coming out all over again.  This story has been told before in other settings and sadly, there’s not much new this time. From the beginning, there’s a dated feel in the style and handling of the subject. So far, not much humor either…hey, we’re talking drag queens!. (Review based on half of the first of 4 one-hour episodes. French & Polish dubbed or subtitles) 2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5)

Maggie Rebecca Rittenhouse stars as a psychic, who suddenly sees her own future that includes the love of her life. Needless to say, she resists the inevitable. This feels like a basic TV romcom without much original and so far, nothing funny. Rittenhouse’s character isn’t especially appealing, either. The supporting characters add little fun or quirky.
