Wildcat

Harry is a British veteran who returned home from service in Afghanastan with PTSD. We first meet him as he interacts with a baby ocelot in the Peruvian rainforest. The doc continues to explore his relationship with the animal, plus his involvement with the woman who organized the project to re-introduce orphaned animals back into the wild. The concept is interesting, especially the focus on Harry’s growing bond with the beast, but when his depression returns, his emotional state dominates. Although scenes and statements sometimes get repetitive, which slows down the final 30 minutes, this fascinating story is told with warmth and objectivity that will leave the audience fully engaged. 4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5) Click here for my interview with the directors.
