Sienna Miller heads up this exceptional cast as an average mom who struggles with the disappearance of her teenage daughter and the subsequent trials that trail her for years. While her performance is compelling, the supportive relationship with her family adds another layer (especially sister played by Christina Hendricks and mother played by Amy Madigan). While the daughter’s absence hovers over many scenes, the narrative is much more complex, which makes it richer. This isn’t a big drama with grand emotions, but an absorbing and multifaceted character study. (Criterion Cinemas only)
