Virginia Rep has announced the upcoming shows for the 2015-16 season. Since they’re doing this a month earlier this year, major castings are not finalized yet (with one exception below). Also, Cadence won’t be announcing their shows for about 3 weeks. One other tidbit: longtime Richmond illustrator Bill Nelson is back from Manteo and will be creating the illustrations for the Hanover Tavern season (which he did many years ago).

Peter and the Starcatcher (10/1-25): a prequel to the Peter Pan story.

Gypsy (11/19-1/10): the popular musical about the famous stripper Gypsy Rose Lee

Saturday, Sunday, Monday (2/11 – 3/6): a new translation of the 1959 comedy by Eduardo de Filippo that features an Italian dinner being prepared on stage (it may also be coming to Bway soon)

Summer and Smoke (4/ 21 – 5/15): by Tennessee Williams

Dreamgirls (6/23 – 8/7): another popular musical focusing on show biz women

The Fabulous Lipitones (9/18 – 11/1): a  regional debut that follows an aging barbershop quartet as they welcome a Sikh to the group (one of the writers also was head writer for The Cosby Show)

This Wonderful Life (11/27– 1/3): Scott Wichmann returning in the one man show adapted from the classic screenplay “It’s a Wonderful Life”

I Do, I Do (2/26 – 4/3): a two-person musical about 50 years of marriage by the writers of “The Fantastiks”

Brighton Beach Memoirs (7/15 – 8/28): a Neil Simon favorite

House at Pooh Corner (10/14 – 11/15)

The Velveteen Rabbit (12/1– 1/3)

I Have a Dream (1/27 – 2/14)

Croaker: The Frog Prince Musical (3/9 – 4/17): an original by Debra Clinton and Jason Marks getting it’s pro debut (previously at SPARC)

The Little Engine that Could (7/8 – 7/31)

New this year: Under 35 Pricing for the Signature and Hanover Seasons (plays $25 & musicals $30) and Senior Discounts for 65+.
