Ed Skrein has taken the wheel from Jason Statham as the titular driver. The current assignment steers away from car stunts to an elaborate heist with 4 hot women. Skrein is model-chiseled handsome with English composure (which makes him feel more like James Bond), but he has a charisma that works. The chases are fast with lots of flying crashes. The fights are hectic with plenty of punches and bullets. Even so, it never travels down any new roads, which makes is more a threadbare retread than a refueling.
