Good thing this movie is based on a true story: There are so many stupid decisions and preposterous plot turns, nobody could write it. Three bodybuilders (Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Mackie) decide to kidnap a man and claim his valuables. But these guys are fueled by testosterone, not brains and it’s a disaster from the beginning. As for the film, it’s a frantic, loud, jumbled mess…over the top and not in a good way. More humor would have helped (thanks to Johnson for the bit there is). There’s no denying that director Michael Bay knows how to make movies, but he’s trying too hard and it fails more than it succeeds. BTW, it’s not cool to be homophobic anymore.
