Ilana Glazer plays a single woman who finds herself pregnant after a one-nite stand. She turns to her best friend since childhood (Michelle Buteau) for support and advice. I’ve never found Glazer funny. She seems to always be trying too hard. Buteau, on the other hand, is effortlessly amusing just with her delivery. The writing is upbeat, honing in on plenty of pregnancy jokes, but there are few really amusing moments. Buteau’s birth sequence is the best and it’s at the beginning of the movie. Director Pamela Adlon has kept the energy up and staged the few physical moments effectively. As a tribute to sisterhood solidarity it has merit, but as a comedy, it’s seldom more than mildly amusing. FUN FACT: Listen for Whoopi Goldberg as the voice of the boobs.  2.5 out of 5 stars (2.5 / 5)
