A plane crashes and sinks into the Pacific Ocean, leaving the remaining passengers in a desperate fight for survival. The crash sequence is truly terrifying. This is an intriguing premise that’s carried out with some suspense and so many plot holes that they could sink the movie (pun intended). The crew (mostly young to appeal to the audience) makes various attempts to escape, but other than the dwindling air supply, their biggest challenge is the hungry sharks that lurk. There are some dramatic moments to create empathy for the characters. Some of the situations test reality, but others provide genuine jump scares. If you’re looking for a new survival thriller and can look past the flaws in the story (especially the ending), this one provides some tense fun.
