Nicole Kidman plays the CEO/owner of a tech company with Harris Dickinson as the intriguing new intern. Eventually, their relationship turns into a hot affair dealing with power and submission. Kidman boldly goes all out with her raw, erotic performance, while Dickinson controls the situations with sexy authority. Writer/director Halina Reijn dives deep into the mind of this character, partially with her continued close-ups and definitely thanks to the unfettered performances. This film is an intimate, probing examination of sexual desire and power dynamics. It’s fascinating, mildly kinky and somewhat arousing, while staying grounded in the mental mind games.
