Vince Vaughn has a unique comic style of off-hand comments that’s usually amusing. It’s working for him in this series, as he plays a former police detective who’s been reduced to restaurant inspector. Even so, he insists on pursuing the mystery of a severed arm that was fished out of the water in the Keys. There’s also a parallel plot in the Bahamas featuring Ronald Peet as a man whose house has been demolished by a real estate developer. The voiceover promises that these 2 plots will intertwine later in the series. There’s also cast of enjoyable supporting characters. Meanwhile, the mystery twists and Vaughn’s wisecracks keep it entertaining, making it more rewarding than the typical procedural. Review based on 3 out of 10 eps. (3.5 / 5)
