Owen Wilson plays a man who’s unfocused and bewildered, until a mysterious woman (Salma Hayek) appears to make things even more confusing. This sci-fi tale takes a while to generate interest and even when it develops into something somewhat intriguing, it never gets good. The concept skims the surface, so it’s harder for the actors to dig in. Compounding that is the basic premise, which is never clearly explained and an ending that’s completely unsatisfying. No thrills, action, emotion, originality or even cool special effects.
