Chris Lindsay-Abaire and her husband David attended Sarah Lawrence with Anna Johnson (Cadence Artistic Director). They’ve remained friends as David pursued his career as a playwright (this season’s “Good People” and currently-running “Shrek”). Meanwhile, Chris served on the board of Cadence from her New York vantage. When Anna was considering “Detroit,” she sent the script to Chris, who not only approved, but asked to audition. We chatted before rehearsal last weekend and here’s what she had to say about the play and Richmond.
