Tom Holland plays a young man living in New World, a colony on a remote planet with settlers from Earth. There are only men left and their thoughts are broadcast for all to hear. When a woman (Daisy Ridley) crash lands, it launches the duo’s expedition to save her and her fellow space travelers. Considering director Doug Liman is known for action films, this trek has its share of encounters, some of which are mildly exciting. The story is at times absorbing and other times a bit dumb, but Holland’s appealing character makes it enjoyable. This is another take on an altered future that develops into an enjoyable, but inconsequential sci-fi adventure.
