Confess, Fletch

John Hamm made his rep in the drama Madmen, but his comic chops have been revealed in several shows. This time, he’s the star, playing an investigative journalist who ends up accused of murder. He sets out to find the true culprit, turning him into a sort of real investigator. Hamm is wonderfully amusing with his sly delivery and off-kilter reactions. Writer/director Greg Mottola has penned a witty script and filled the cast with quirky characters (the cooking scene with Annie Mumolo is especially hilarious). The one-liners and extended gags never stop, providing a continuously funny experience that makes it the funniest movie of 2022. NOTE: There’s one final quick, subtle audio gag at the end of the credits. 4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)
