Constellation

The first episode of this series finds Noomi Rapace with a team of astronauts in a space station. When things go wrong, it’s absolutely riveting. Then she returns to Earth, where her experiences are questioned. She goes thru a sort of identity crisis, thanks to quantum theory. The 2nd ep is moderately compelling, as we watch the confusion mount. By the 3rd ep, things start to bog down and it only gets more repetitive and confusing. Rapace and the rest of the cast are fine, although Alice Ericsson-Taylor’s whiny daughter gets tedious. As the plot folds in on itself, it becomes obvious where this is headed, but it takes 2 extra hours to get there. What started with lots of promise peters out to the point of tedium and frustration. (8 one-hour eps) 2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5)
