Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back 50 years by the X-Men leaders (Patrick Steward & Ian McKellen) to encourage their younger selves (James McAvoy & Michael Fassbender) to engage in a conflict that will save them and the world. Although the time-travel logic gets a bet confusing at times, the top-notch actors manage to make the drama effective. On top of that, there’s plenty of inventive action and cool effects to stimulate the eyes and imagination. NOTE: Sit thru the credits for a preview of a new mutant.
