Gerard Butler is back as the cop trying to track down the team that robbed the Federal Reserve in the original film. This time, he decides to join them for their big diamond heist. After 90 minutes of conversation, much of it with the lead thief (O’Shea Jackson Jr.), they FINALLY get around to the heist. It’s pretty much what you expect, not original, but there is some excitement with the getaway. Writer/director Christian Gudegast hasn’t strayed far from his approach to the first movie , which renders this one too long and only mildly stimulating. As I said in my review for the first one, “It was never boring, but it was never thrilling either.” This one even less so.
