Before his new film as Captain America was released, Anthony Mackie starred in this scifi thriller. Like so many post-apocalyptic stories, there are a few survivors left struggling in small camps. In this case, they’re living above 8000 feet because the invasion of seemingly indestructible creatures can’t venture that high. Mackie and 2 women (Morena Baccarin & Maddie Hasson) set out below the line to find medicine and a way to kill the monsters. Their journey is full of expected events, making the movie completely predictable. Even so, there are a few moments genuine scares, plus plenty of running and shooting. As the genre goes, this film offers nothing new, but even with the obvious plotting, it proves moderately involving. NOTE: Sit thru the early credits for one final scene.
