This is yet another film based on social media and the law of diminishing returns is in full effect. A college student (Alycia Debnam-Carey) is stalked by a creepy outcast (Liesl Ahlers). After the loser is rejected, the popular girl starts losing her friends in dull and somewhat confusing ways. The predictable plot is just an updated version of the haunted curse genre. The addition of Facebook only makes it relevant to boomers..haven’t the kids moved on to Instagram and Snapchat and ones I haven’t even heard of? There’s nothing especially disturbing or original about the evil beings and the film is never scary or even tense. This pitiful attempt at pandering to the youth crowd should be “unfriended” by all ticket buyers.
