Frozen (review)

Even though this film was released in 2010, it popped up as a suggestion from Hulu (maybe it was the snowy weather). A trio of twenty-somethings ends up on a chair lift after the ski resort has shut down. Their attempts to save themselves feature some genuinely harrowing sequences, including one great jump scare. Writer/director Adam Green’s (shallow) character development and (dull) dialogue just interferes with the thrills, but every time they try a new escape angle, he ramps up the tension. I’m a thriller buff and found the suspense sequences some of the most riveting I’ve seen in a while. Here’s the best way to watch it: Check out the first 5 minutes for all the exposition you need, then fast forward to about 30 minutes (you’ll see them on the lift) and fasten in!

Thrills: 5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)
Overall movie: 3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)
