Sean Penn & Julia Roberts star as John and Martha Mitchell, the DC power couple that figured in and around the Watergate Scandal. They’re both incredible in the roles, as is the rest of the considerable cast (esp Shea Whignham as G. Gordon Liddy) . This series revolves around the conspiracy from the inside and the attempts to expose it. Each episode deepens the drama and ultimately is a fascinating and informative look at this crucial moment in our country’s history. NOTE: VCU grad D. Tracy Smith designed the sets, including impressive the apartment where so much of the show takes place. Here’s link to my podcast where he discusses the design and Roberts’ kind reaction. NOTE: This is one of the few recommended shows on Starz, so consider getting a trial membership and binging it and maybe the new season of Party Down, all seasons of Outlander or P-Valley (my review).
