The family from the last Ghosbusters bomb (Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon & Finn Wolfhard) are joined by the originals (Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray & Annie Potts) as they face the latest evil spirits in NYC. After one fast-paced opening sequence, the story settles for lots of conversation with occasional sprinkles of spirits. As a result, there’s lots of dull dialogue while waiting for the final encounter, which brings out all the guns but lacks any originality. Although these films are supposed to be comedies, there’s virtually nothing funny here, with the exception of Kumail Nanjiani’s character. Like the last one, this series has deteriorated into family fare, so it lacks any sassy punch or outrageous fun. This is the worst movie in the franchise. NOTE: Stay thru the early credits for one final unfunny gag. (1 / 5)
