Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The gang of weird-looking misfit heroes is back. This time the story revolves around the evolution and eventual rescue of Rocket (the raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper). In a twist, this takes more of a heist angle instead of the usual evil villain destroying the world, although there is a bit of that. As usual, the plot gives way to action and repartee. Like so many of this genre, the fights are basically a blur with lots of flying bodies. The character interaction does provide some moments of mild humor, but the most impressive performances are the expressive emotions from the CGI animals. One of the “worlds” they visit does feature some cool gooey visuals and director James Gunn sure loves to let hit tunes carry the action. Fans of the series will enjoy the continuing adventure. If you haven’t seen the other 2, you’ll be lost. 3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)
