Two brothers (Jamie Sives & Mark Bonnar) are on the way home from a wedding when they hit a man and kill him. They think they got away with it, but spend the rest of the series trying to conceal their guilt. While the actors do a fine job, it’s really the writing that makes this mystery fun. This story keeps twisting to deepen their culpability, sometimes with a darkly humorous turn. Being a BBC drama (the first from BBC Scotland), you can expect competency all around and this delivers. There’s no violence and in a sadly pristine note, PBS saw fit to delete any expletives, so there are sudden silences. Even so, the first 2 episodes are sufficiently intriguing to make the final 2 worth watching.
