A group of teens deals with a specter that haunts its victims and slowly follows them to potential death. Anyone who knows john carpenter’s early work will appreciate the parallels: glacial wide-angle gliding camera, ominous synthesized score and suburban dread. Speaking of old school, i like my horror films to have some juicy scares or genuinely frightening villains. This film offers neither. It’s depends more on creepy than scary. There are a few lame frights and lots of low-key…make that no-key suspense. I found it too talky and disappointingly dull.
