Anyone who remembers the early days of Cinemax will recall their nickname “Skinemax,” because they featured lots of sex in their shows. This recent entry has a bit more prestige, but still manages to provide plenty of sensual flesh and steamy moments. Carla Gugino stars as a high-end thief who runs capers for a crime boss (Giancarlo Esposito). Every episode twists and turns as loyalties are thwarted and people are crossed…or worse. Gugino maintains her cool, sexy demeanor, while calmly carrying out her missions. The violence is regular, but so are the libidinous encounters and the stylized glam visuals. While breaking no new ground, this series is cool pulp fun. NOTE: The final episode in Season 1 ends with issues to be resolved, but there will NOT be a 2nd season.
