Joel Bassin has been named the new artistic director for Firehouse Theatre. He’s currently the chairman of theater at Hunter College and has been managing director of The Wooster Group, producing director of Tribeca Performing Arts Center and company manager for Mabou Mines (all New York City-based theater companies devoted to experimental, diverse and globally oriented drama). He was in town recently and we sat down for a chat.
