Living

This film revolves around Bill Nighy, so it’s fortunate that he’s talented. He plays a quiet-living, some might say stuffy, bureaucrat in 50s London. Unfortunate news causes him to assess his existence and explore what it’s like to “live.” The portrayal of the formal work environmental and the period atmosphere make for an interesting background, but its Nighy’s restrained portrayal that gives the film its weight. This has BBC pedigree all over it, so fans of those quiet personal dramas will find something to appreciate. 3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)
