If you’re not familiar with this internet sensation, the title character is a 1″ shell with shoes and one googly eye. His precious, tiny voice is created by Jenny Slate and her creative partner Dean Fleisher-Camp directed. He also acts as the documentarian asking Marcel questions and driving the story forward. It’s delightful to see the clever ways they have adapted small things from our world to be used as Marcel’s props. His sweet adorableness is what makes the movie work, although it does slow down a few times. Also in the cast are Isabella Rossellini (as his shell grandmom) and Lesley Stahl (as herself on 60 Minutes). Anyone who just can’t get enuff Marcel in the internet will find this extended version unique and sweet. NOTE: Fleisher-Camp grew up in Henrico.
