Penélope Cruz plays an eccentric director who’s hired to helm a movie starring 2 very different actors. Antonio Banderas is the big movie star, while Oscar Martínez plays an esteemed theatre actor. Of course, their very different approaches comprise much of the film’s encounters. The rehearsal period consists of some somewhat silly exercises, but Cruz and Bandares are both having a great time going ever-so-subtly overboard. This look at the creative process thru some quirky lenses provides moments of amusement on a very small scale. (3.5 / 5)
