From the title, one might think this is a PG-rated film, so it’s OK for young audiences. They might be the only ones to appreciate this mess. Actually it’s NR for Not Rated, which is appropriate, because it doesn’t deserve to be.
A meek brother and his obnoxious sister dig up an alien monster. His mission to destroy the universe (that tired trope) is thwarted because the sister holds an amulet that allows her to control his powers. Even if the plot sounds like there might be potential, the reality is a disastrous mishmash of tedious talky scenes made worse by bad dialogue, horrible monster designs, sloppy gore and messy action sequences. Also, it’s billed as a comedy, but there’s not one even mildly amusing moment. This is one of the worst movies of the year and it’s only January.
