Reminiscence

Hugh Jackman plays a man who runs a facility that allows people to relive memories. A woman (Rebecca Ferguson) shows up as a customer, but ends up in a tangled love affair. Needless to say, this includes danger, murder and conspiracy. While it’s sufficiently interesting, the story or direction never grip the emotions or surprise expectations (and some of the tech fails logic). With the constant voiceover and a reality altered by a failing environment, the film harkens back to the original Blade Runner. The movie’s coolest feature is Miami’s partially submerged underwater world (the piano fight scene is the visual highlight). Overall, this is a rather pedestrian film noir that’s major asset is the CGI city. 3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)
