This film starts with a humble bookstore owner (Justice Smith) befriending a young woman (Briana Middleton). As the cast expands to include Sebastian Stan, Julianne Moore & John Lithgow, the deceptions multiply. Even though the trailer looks like an elaborate scheme among rich socialites, it’s actually a small-cast drama with 5 major characters. Luckily, the performances are all convincing, so the scams they’re planning work. The plot keeps twisting and the solid direction by Benjamin Caron maintains the credibility of the cons. Dependable entertainment.
