Álex Pina, the producer of the Netflix international super hit Money Heist , is back with an even wilder ride. Three prostitutes are on the run after they damage the club (and the owner) where they work. Naturally, they’re being pursued by some men who have an evil streak. The characters are all given personal issues (often via flashbacks) and the evils of prostitution are fully addressed (even though the trio remains dressed in their skimpy outfits). But what makes it so enjoyable is the continuous action with situations that keep surprising and upping the odds. There’s no denying there’s a Tarantino’s slant with a dash of Russ Meyers’ saucy ladies. It’s pulp all the way, but enjoyably done with slick style, pounding music and fierce encounters that make it hot escapist (pun intended) fun. (Eight 25-minute episodes with Season 2 launching 7/23)
