Here’s yet another tepid comedy featuring a quartet of older women on an adventure. This time one of them is getting married, so the others 3 travel to Key West for the fun (actually shot in Georgia). Bette Midler is more manic than comic as the TicTok-obsessed bride, Megan Mullally provides the few genuine laffs as the horny singer, Sheryl Lee Randolph plays it big as the cannabis-growing grandma, while Susan Sarandon, as a heart surgeon, gets to provide the dramatic struggle. Like the rest of this genre, there’s little genuine humor, but lots of effort to find the funny. It moves along at a snappy pace, which keeps the triteness from getting tedious. Overall, it’s energetic with the cast providing the only real appeal. NOTE: Look for Sophie von Haselberg, Midler’s daughter, in the opening scene as her daughter. (1.5 / 5)
