Ryan Gosling displays his usual charming charisma as a movie stunt man (pay attention to the early scene where he takes an elevator to the top of a building where he does a big fall…all in one shot). The romantic angle comes from his romance with a DP turned director (Emily Blunt). Their chemistry is dynamite and their relationship provides some fun interactions. The fulcrum of the film is the continuous parade of spectacular stunts, directed by former stunt performer David Leitch. One annoying decision was to intercut some of the action scenes with dialogue scenes, which undermines the momentum. Still, it’s fun to see how these elaborate scenes are rigged and staged. The movie is popcorn fun all the way. NOTE: Stay thru all of the credits to see behind-the-scenes footage and one final conclusion.
