The Madness

One of the current pop culture curses is the proliferation of “mid” TV series that are basically bland blends of popular genres, issues and approaches. This series is yet another. Coleman Domingo plays a CNN pundit who finds himself embroiled in a massive conspiracy that results in him being hunted for murder. The first 15 minutes, when the initial killing is revealed, is the only real action moment. After that there’s lots of typical cat-and-mouse activity dragged down with continual family issues (got to have that personal emotional conflict). Domingo and the rest of the cast are good, but there’s not much original or exciting to work with. This is yet another quickly-forgotten, logarithmic-derived thriller that lacks much thrill. 2 out of 5 stars (2 / 5)
