A former CIA operative (Jeff Bridges) has been living off the grid until a mysterious event from his past puts him in the crosshairs of his former agency. Leading the search is his previous boss (John Lithgow). While there’s one well-staged violent encounter in every episode, this is mostly about character interaction. Fortunately, the writing keeps it interesting and the solid performances make it compelling. The agent’s two loyal and well-trained dogs are almost characters too. While there are extended periods of dialogue and more action would add to the tension, this is still a well-crafted spy drama. (Review based on 4 out of 7 one-hour eps with new ones dropping every Thursday. Already renewed for a 2nd season.) (3.5 / 5)
