The Resort

Cristin Milioti & William Jackson Harper play a couple at a tropical resort celebrating their 10th annivsary, when they stumble upon a clue to an event that happened 15 years earlier. This leads them on a search that bounces from their attempts to solve the mysterious disappearance to the events that led up to it. While this starts out promisingly, it veers into bizarre directions with a hint of supernatural or metaphysical element. Although the performances are fine, the plot starts to get a bit muddled as the weirdness ramp up. Surprisingly, it’s billed as a comedy, but Harper’s reactions are the only remotely amusing moments and Ben Sinclair’s resort owner is especially weird in an unfunny way. Even though I’ll prob finish it to see where it leads, it’s lacking much tension or dramatic punch. (Review based on 5 of 8 episodes with new ones released weekly) 3 out of 5 stars (3 / 5)

UPDATE: I managed to make it thru the final ep, which was absolutely mind blowing! Made working thru the rest of the show worth it. Upgrading to 4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)
