This latest comedy series from Mindy Kaling follows 4 Freshman as they arrive at an upscale New England college (the “innocent” one is Pauline Chalamet, his sister). As expected, each member of the quartet has a unique personality that makes for a fun mix of attitudes and approaches. Almost everything they do revolves around some way to get laid, a plan which is readily accepted without any shame (and numerous shirtless hot men). The actors all have perfect laid-back comic timing with jokes that aren’t sitcom safe…some of the best punch lines are almost throwaways. Sure, this seems like it’s aimed at an audience of young women, but the individuals are interesting, the performances snappy and the whole thing has a bright, easy spirit that makes it a fresh delight.
