Jamie Dornan is driving thru the backcountry of Australia, when he’s in an accident that lands him in the hospital with amnesia. On his quest to find the truth, things quickly veer out of control. This has echoes of the Coen Brothers, namely Fargo: It’s stylishly shot without being arty, the tension ebbs and flows, the violence is solidly staged and there are eccentric characterd, esp. Danielle Macdonald as the wanna-be detective who’s channeling Merritt Wever’s endearing bumbling style. Dornan is constantly compelling as he navigates the confusion and frustration (not to mention his ever-present bulging biceps). The narrative continues to surprise and the direction is always assured, creating an imminently watchable crime mystery that will grab your rapt attention from the beginning.
