The classic cat and mouse duo inhabit this world where all the humans are played by real people, while the animals are all animated (less allergic). Chloë Grace Moretz ends up with a job at New York’s finest hotel, just as a major wedding is about the be staged. While she runs around trying to cope with the by-the-numbers plot, the titular duo engages in their usual slapstick antics. Needless to say, mayhem ensues, but none of it presented with a hint of anything new or clever. Only Colin Jost (the groom) manages any good punch lines and they feel like he wrote them himself. Otherwise, it’s doubtful that anyone over 7 years old will find this movie is anything but energetically tired and totally trite.
