When a family moves into a grand old house, they soon discover their attic “harbors” the titular phantom (David Harbour). This is billed as a comedy, but there are few humorous moments. There also isn’t any suspense as the plot delves the ghost’s past. The writing is predictable and the performances are mild (even Jennifer Coolidge in a red wig isn’t at her best). While it’s paced effectively and there’s sufficient energy to keep interest, nothing stands out. It feels like a mediocre Disney family adventure. (2 / 5)
