Joel Edgerton plays a physics teacher, who is happily married to Jennifer Connelly. One nite, he’s abducted and wakes up in an alternate universe where his life is very different. Turns out he was replaced in his own world by a more successful scientist version of himself from another reality. Thus begins his journey to visit numerous worlds in an effort to get back home. Quantum physics is the latest subject to pop up in sci-fi, primarily because it allows all manner of twists and confusion. Constellation, also on Apple, follows a similar subject (my review). Sure, quantum theory offers opportunities for stories that fold back on themselves, but a series needs more than that to keep it compelling. This one sputters more than it succeeds and the ending leaves it open for a second season. Not sure if it’ll be worth the trouble.
